
History of University of Prishtina
University of Prishtina is one of the first institutions of higher education in the region that has undertaken a process of thorough reforms in accordance with Bologna Process. Implementation of the ECTS system began in the academic year 2001/2002 and ECTS Coordinators were appointed in each academic unit, led by the Institutional Coordinator. ECTS Coordinators have attended various trainings in Kosova and abroad and have exchanged and continue to exchange their experiences with well known European experts in regards to implementation of the Bologna Process in the University of Prishtina.Given that assuring internal and external quality is one of the main pillars of the Bologna Process, the UP Senate took the decision to establish a Quality Assurance Unit in February 2007. Members of this unit are called Coordinators for Academic Development and they are responsible for ECTS and for assuring quality in academic units. These Coordinators report to the Office for Academic Development. The office has a director and an office assistant, and this entire network is led by the Vice-Rector for Learning and Scientific Research at UP.
